Millview Apartments

Turning right onto Chestnut Street, you will see the tennis courts. Powell River’s first tennis Club was formed in 1936. The Bowling Green was established in 1921. From this vantage point you can enjoy the view of Malaspina Strait and the islands. Close to shore you can see the "hulks". This unique breakwater made of concrete ships has been protecting the mill's log pond since 1920.

As you turn right and walk down the sidewalk, you will see the Craftsman styling of the houses known as Manager's Row. At one time it s said that you could look at a home and tell what the owner's job was. The exception was the present Mill View Apartments, which was built as  home for Bobby Scanlon, the son of one of the mill founders.
