Athletic Club

Further down Ash Street stands the Union Hall built in 1964. This site formerly held the company-built gymnasium. The Powell River Company strongly encouraged physical fitness, building top quality sports facilities in the Townsite. An athletic director was on the company payroll and good athletes were give first chance at the mill jobs.
